PLATO’S CAVE

by REALITY RESEARCH CENTER

at the Dome of Visions, Copenhagen, 2016

Plato’s Cave is a six-day mystery play for eight protagonists, three gods and a choir. It is the second part of the platonic magnum opus Mysteries of Love. Plato’s Cave premiered in the Dome of Visions in Copenhagen in February 2016.

The play consists of four acts, three of which are personal encounters with gods.

Act I   Shadows of Afrodite

in which the protagonist makes a choice

Act II   Shadows of Dionysos

in which the protagonist builds a gateway

Act III   Shadows of Apollon

in which the protagonist practices becoming real

Act IV   The Cave

in which the protagonists come together and liberate their true selves

Aphrodite, Apollon and Dionysos guided the protagonists towards mysteries of love. The eight protagonists are members of the audience committed to the whole process. The choir – rest of the audience – could enter the Dome to follow the journey of the protagonists at any point during the first five days, during which the first three acts took place. The fourth act, on the sixth day, was open only for the protagonists.
